Recording

Record your canvas with webcam and microphone

Overview

ZenNow's recording feature lets you capture your canvas, webcam feed, and microphone audio in a single video. Everything is recorded locally in your browser -- no uploads during recording.

Setting Up Recording

1. Open Recording Controls

Click the Record button in the editor toolbar to reveal the recording bar at the top of the canvas.

2. Configure Your Setup

  • Webcam toggle -- turn your camera on or off. Recording works without a webcam if you only want canvas + audio.
  • Webcam shape -- switch between circular and rectangular webcam overlay
  • Microphone toggle -- select your microphone source. If no microphone is detected, a warning message will appear.

3. Start Recording

Click Start Recording to begin. The recording captures:

  • The full canvas area
  • Your webcam feed (if enabled) as an overlay
  • Microphone audio

4. During Recording

While recording:

  • Navigate between canvas pages as you narrate
  • The pause/resume button lets you take breaks
  • A timer shows the current recording duration

5. Stop and Preview

Click Stop Recording to finish. A video preview overlay appears where you can:

  • Download -- save the recording to your device
  • Discard -- delete the recording and start over

Watermark

  • Free plan users will see a subtle "ZenNow" watermark on their recordings
  • Pro and Lifetime plan users get watermark-free recordings

Tips for Better Recordings

  1. Test your setup first -- check audio and video before starting the actual recording
  2. Use good lighting -- ensure your face is well-lit if using webcam
  3. Minimize background noise -- use a quiet environment or a directional microphone
  4. Prepare your pages -- have all canvas pages ready before recording
  5. Practice your script -- rehearse the narration for smoother delivery

Technical Notes

  • Recordings are saved in WebM format
  • All processing happens locally in your browser
  • No video data is uploaded to any server during recording
  • Supported in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (Safari has limited support)
